A Yaoundé update.
Hey peeps, its been a while so i thought i'd sum up the past few days as now the FES session i was involved in came to an end *sob*
The past three weeks have been such a blessing, clearly given by God in order to grow me, mould me and train me in his righteousness. Its so exciting the people he has put around me to do those things through, and this is a blog that is from a truly thankful servant.
Friday was the last day of Field Education School, Yaoundé, and it was a sad but fun day all in one. We wrapped up in style, taking half an hour or so to take photos of the whole school and individual classes, sorry no photos as yet, will post some as i get them. Then we generally tried to have fun, eating greek food, as authentic as possible, and we just had fun with the kids. The end of the morning saw a truly classic wrap up with kids singing, saying to the parents what they had learnt (hopefully something! even if it was just that the Greeks used to do the olympics nude...one kids asked if they could come to school dressed as a Greek athlete...hahah
So that was the last day, much fun was had, and had a nice weekend. One of the staff taught the kids how to tie knots, so we took them to a nearby rainforest, the potential site of a new school, and we had a picnic together with all the FES families and the kids made a rope bridge and went across using carribas (dont do rock climbing, sorry if thats not right, theyre little clippy things that you attach to harnesses! - very technical). Was much fun.
Tomorrow i start home schooling Kate, a wee beaut who was in my class this last FES session and with whom i shall travel up north with and live with and teach until late november. So excited, the family are lush so should be muchos fun.
Michelle has posted a few bits with some of our wildlife antics which include finding the skeleton of a relation of Bob, our Gecko friend which was quite disconcerting...the photos are on her blog...but one highlight after that was finding a praying mantis...they're amazing! :)
Well there you go...much love readers. A +
